FL-200 Floor Lamination is a specialized, heavyweight protective film designed to be applied over floor graphics. In the professional printing industry, the "200" refers to its thickness: 200 microns.
Because floor stickers are subjected to heavy foot traffic, shopping carts, and cleaning chemicals, they require a much thicker and more "rugged" laminate than standard wall or window stickers.
Technical Specifications
-
Thickness: 200 microns. This is more than double the thickness of standard lamination.
-
Finish: Sand Texture / Frosted Matte. This specific texture is required to provide "grip" so the sticker doesn't become a slip hazard when wet.
-
Safety Rating: Often carries an R10 or R11 Slip Resistance certification (important for insurance and public safety compliance).
-
Adhesive: High-bond permanent clear acrylic adhesive, designed to stick aggressively to the ink layer of the floor vinyl.
-
Material: Cold-lamination PVC.
Key Features
-
Anti-Slip (Non-Skid): The primary purpose of FL-200 is safety. The "sand" or "grainy" texture ensures that people walking over the graphic have traction.
-
Scuff & Scratch Resistance: It acts as a sacrificial layer that takes the damage from shoes and wheels, protecting the printed image underneath from wearing off.
-
UV Protection: It contains UV inhibitors that prevent the floor graphic from fading under harsh supermarket or mall lighting.
-
Easy Cleaning: It is water-resistant and can withstand industrial floor scrubbers and detergents.
Common Applications
-
Supermarket Floor Decals: "Aisle" markers or promotional "On Sale" circles on the floor.
-
Social Distancing Markers: Directional arrows and "Stand Here" stickers in banks or retail stores.
-
Trade Show Graphics: Branding on the floor of an exhibition booth.
-
Wayfinding: Hospital or airport floor signs that guide people to different sections.
Pro-Tip: The "Sand" Finish
When you look at FL-200, you will notice it isn't smooth like a window sticker. It has a visible sand-grain texture. This is intentional—smooth lamination on a floor is extremely dangerous because it becomes as slippery as ice when even a tiny amount of water is spilled on it.
